The domain name says it all: surplus of sass; deficit of cash to buy myself a private domain name.
Long before I pursued my bachelor’s degree in Politics, I was desperately searching for ways to make my voice heard in a world I felt didn’t want to be bothered with me. Whether playing an instrument, singing my lungs out, writing morbid poetry, or penning a protest piece, I was always chasing the next outlet; the next proverbial “high” for the budding writer, so to speak.
Day by day I am learning how to raise my voice and be heard. Refining my voice to not only be heard, but also received, has been an even more delicate and frustrating task.
My hope with this blog is not only to continually refine my own voice, but to speak to the other women like me who feel like they’ve been screaming at the top of their lungs their whole lives, waiting for their message to be received. This is for the “bossy girls,” the “13 going on 30” girls, and the girls who always wanted more, now grown into women constantly striving for better. My genuine hope is that my writing will strike your passions, pique your interest, and let you know you’re not alone in the struggle to find your way in this world.
Courage and love to you,
